The classic styling of a sleigh bed is highlighted by detailed iron work on both sides of the bed. The centers of the head- and footboards are made of smooth wood panels. Be sure to select other Copper Collection pieces to complete a bedroom set! PLEASE NOTE: Every piece in the Copper Collection has been photographed in the default, antique brown stain color, but is available in 5 other antique finish colors as shown in the 'Finish Options' photo, above. If you would like a finish color other than antique brown, please call us at 888.622.0939 for a price quote, or simply proceed through our secure checkout process and we will call you to finalize your total order cost and color selection before charging your credit card. The rich colors of red, brown, orange, yellow and black are fired directly into the copper. The colors are random and not controllable — each piece is truly unique as no two pieces turn out exactly like. The nature of the hammering is critical as to how the copper wears. The copper in this collection is hand-hammered using the optimal depth and spacing for preserving the appearance of the copper over time with use, scratching, and abrasion, while also allowing one to easily write on a sheet of paper on the same surface. The copper is also sealed with clear paste wax for protection. Old wood from buildings is reclaimed and used in this collection. All the reclaimed wood has been thoroughly fumigated to eliminate insects. A dark brown wood stain is applied that is durable and water resistant. All iron work is also hand-forged and stunningly detailed.
